Darwinian CRM

Darwin2_2 Whilst “Wilfing” (What was I looking for) today I came across this interesting article relating the CRM process with Darwinian theory. Not as outlandish as you may first think. If we are indeed the product of evolution it would make sense that all subsequent actions from our being would follow a similar path. The article put me in mind of a book I read some years ago “Darwin Among Machines” by George Dyson – a disturbing and apocalyptic vision of the future.

Anyway the key point here is that with any implementation of technology be it CRM or any web development project always remember the adage: Evolution not Revolution!

Keyword Tool

Good_keywords_v2_2

Good Keywords first hit the web way back in 2000. This software tool is completely free with  no registration required.

Keywords are important in the optimisation  of your website for the search engines. Think about it. If your website is selling houses what search terms would web users type into a search engines? estate agents, houses for sale, moving house to London….the list is endless. The idea is is that you should home in on the most valuable search terms and optimise the content on your website in relation to what people are typing into search engines.

In addition to the set of keyword tools the software also provides a link analysis tool that allows you to find out how many sites link into your website and also, perhaps more importantly, how many links there are into your competitor’s websites.

Business Basics

Ica_3All internet marketing activities should make a difference to your bottom line. If that’s not the case then you should take a look at the Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Directors Briefings. These briefings offer a basic approach on most, if not all, aspects of running a business. A lot of the briefings may appear simple and full of common sense but it never hurt to KISS.
